Interior total white: mix warm and cold white tones

White, a color with strong symbolism. As chromotherapy consultant Emanuela Mattiuzzi points out, "white has a profoundly positive meaning and is linked to the concepts of purity, light and healing.

It is the color that represents unity and completeness, being the sum of all the other colors of the light spectrum. This makes it a universal symbol of balance and harmony".

When using it in an interior design key, however, be careful not to flatten domestic spaces by using a single shade of white.

Mattiuzzi recalls: "the secret to creating a total white environment is mixing different shades of white. Each shade of white has its own 'temperature' that can tend more towards the warm (ivory, cream, whipped cream) or towards the cold (ice, pearl). Knowing how to play with these tones allows you to add depth and dynamism to the domestic scenography".

According to interior designer Alice Truant, "the first strategy consists in creating an immaculate background, starting from painting the walls pure white, managing to implement the brightness of the various spaces.

For a Nordic home effect, whitened parquet is welcome, which immediately makes you think of a Swedish cottage. Obviously, white marble floors are also the most chic, but consider that in this case the final effect will be very elegant, but also rather cold.

In an all-white environment, materials and textures take on the role of protagonists. Alternating smooth and shiny surfaces with soft fabrics and rough textures will give movement and character to the whole".
