Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka, the minimal space is located in a historic building in the Mayfair district
Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka with tones of black and white, the new Issey Miyake store in Mayfair features an innovative triangular clothes bar in steel, with a length of 10 meters, that conveys the impression that the garments are floating in the air.
The minimal space on Brook Street is organized on three levels and combines the timeless spirit of Issey Miyake – “making things” – with modern architecture in harmonious contrast with the historic building.
The staircase and flooring are made with slabs of Bateig blue limestone cut to measure. The space is completed by reflecting walls and suspended glass shelves.
