The new flagship store was designed by LualdiMeraldi Studio, while Mo.1950 created the fittings with a sartorial approach, between rigour and simplicity

Giving shape to ideas through dialogue with designers and customisation down to the smallest detail is what every company wants when they are about to build or restyle a showroom. For the Milan flagship store, Calligaris asked for flexibility, know-how, innovation, craftsmanship and technology as an expression of a synthesis of tradition and contemporaneity. Mo.1950 and LualdiMeraldi Studio responded and fulfilled expectations.

Three shop windows and 200 square metres on three levels

Mo.1950 has brought a new design story to Milan, expanding its retail activity with the management of the Calligaris flagship store, opened in via Turati 7. Three shop windows on the street and 200 square metres for a showroom designed by LualdiMeraldi Studio and managed by the Mo.1950 team.

A restyling path

The new single-brand shop represents for Calligaris, a historic made-in-Italy furniture and design company (part of the Orbital Design Collective group), the first stage in a restyling process that will involve all national and international points of sale.

The values of a brand

The project reflects Calligaris' values: "We characterised the interiors, developed on three floors, with architectural elements inspired by the Italian decorative style, while playing with a very modern rigour and simplicity. Consistent with the image, the showroom is divided into living and dining areas, with a special focus on colours and finishes linked to woodworking, the soul of the brand," explains interior designer Matteo Lualdi, at the helm of LualdiMeraldi Studio together with Matteo Meraldi.

Wood is the protagonist

Mo.1950's intervention was important, as it interpreted the spirit of the project, conceived as a single architectural box where wood is the protagonist: from the scenic staircase connecting the showroom levels to the double-height load-bearing columns, to the cladding in the various rooms.
