The metamorphosis of the caterpillar into a butterfly interpreted with a multicolored pattern made from 540 miniature velvet jackets suspended in the void

SOTTOPORTICO COURTYARD OF HONOR, UNIVERSITY OF MILAN - The installation by Ludovica Diligu with Labo.Art in the portico of the Cortile d’Onore focuses on the metaphor of the evolution of simple organisms through the colors of the rainbow.

The metamorphosis of the caterpillar that becomes a butterfly is interpreted elegantly and with restraint through a colorful fantasy made up of 540 miniatures of velvet jackets seemingly hovering in the void.

An installation evoking the transition from simplicity to complexity, through the representation of a vast chromatic scale that seeks to pursue and emulate the natural wonder of the most fascinating phenomenon of atmospheric optical refraction called the rainbow.

Each garment Labo.Art uses in the Butterflies installation expresses the architectural study of volumes and colors harmoniously related to the forms of the body, by exploring endless shades of color and the search for new fabrics and lines.
