A luminous and heartfelt tribute to Artemide's founder: a series of suspensions that cloak the Filarete courtyard in red

EAST LOGGIATO, UNIVERSITY OF MILAN - The installation designed by Mario Cucinella is a luminous tribute to Artemide's founder, Ernesto Gismondi, and is created using a series of Discovery Vertical models from Artemide's Discovery collection, designed by Gismondi himself and awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 2018.

These are suspensions that become frames and interact with their surroundings, shaping spaces and underlining details.

Selected in three different diameters and placed so as to be more numerous in the central arches and then decrease in number in the outermost ones and leave three free arches at each end, thanks to projections they cloak the loggia of the Cortile del Filarete with red light (the symbolic color of Artemide), giving life to light and transparency visual effects.

The work not only ensures a choreographic and engaging result, but also contributes to the quality of the spaces thanks to the patented Integralis light technology, with which the Discovery collection is equipped, capable of sanitizing and preventing the growth of bacteria on the illuminated surfaces.

A perfect synthesis of the Design Re-Evolution theme, whereby the beauty and emotion aroused by the design of light is combined with the ability to foster improved environmental quality.
