A removable and reusable structure that serves as a collection point for a collection of plants

COURTYARD OF HONOR, UNIVERSITY OF MILAN - From the devastation of the Covid-19 pandemic, to the generalized increase in atmospheric temperatures in cities. A study published in 2023 shows that if cities extend tree cover by up to 30%, temperatures could drop by half a degree Celsius during summer heatwaves.

Seeing the potential of this shared effort, the proposal of the Berlin studio Topotek 1, in collaboration with the Landscape Festival di Bergamo - I Maestri del Paesaggio, is a collective action divided into three concepts: deconstruction, activation, green growth.

The site-specific installation for the Court of Honor, entitled Grow Together, Grow Green /- 10k+, is a modular structure, some 30 square meters in surface area and 6 high, consisting of lightweight, reusable scaffolding that serves as a center for bringing together a collection of seedlings.

Visitors are invited to take a plant home and care for it.

This interactive and replicable project, promoted by Landscape Festival - I Maestri del Paesaggio, is being tested in a shortened version at Milan Design Week, before being fully realized at the eponymous event in Bergamo next September.
