The awards, divided into ten categories and three special prizes, valorize the research and development of increasingly advanced and sustainable solutions. And they confirm the points of contact between yacht design and furniture design

An international event established in 2020 by Confindustria Nautica and I Saloni Nautici, the Design Innovation Award celebrates excellence, research, innovation and sustainability in the nautical world and promotes the image of exhibitors at the Salone Nautico di Genova.

The jury

An independent jury composed of national and international experts from different sectors was called to evaluate the almost one hundred applications, chaired for the second consecutive year by Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano.

The jury was composed of: Andrea Ratti – Executive Director MSc. Yacht Design Politecnico di Milano, Andrana Monk, founder of Monk Design, Carlo Cameli, President of Yacht Club Italiano, Franco Michienzi – Director of Barche, Nabil Farhat – Director The World of Yacht, Robin Edman – Designer and former President of the Bureau of European Design Associations and Luisa Bocchietto – Architect, designer and Member of the DIA Steering Committee.

Ten categories in addition to three Special Awards - Innovation, Career and Talent - assigned to projects considered distinctive for originality, sustainability and social impact.

Alpha Performance by Raymarine Italia for the “extremely intuitive graphic display in an elegant form”.

MPX Impact by Musto for its “unique and revolutionary design that looks beyond conventional solutions, using innovative materials and methods to protect against typical ocean-going impacts.”

- Career Award

The Design Innovation Award Steering Committee has decided to award the Special Career Award, celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of Solaris Yachts, for its continued commitment to design and innovation.

Opened by greetings from the Mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci and the Member of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce, Paolo Corsilia, the award ceremony was moderated by Silvia Botti, architect and journalist. The speeches of Saverio Cecchi, President of Confindustria Nautica and Andrea Razeto, President of I Saloni Nautici, kicked off the ceremony.
