Master of Italian Design - Seoul Arts Center – Until 26 April 2020

Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto (Migliore + Servetto Architects) have curated the exhibition Achille Castiglioni and brothers. Master of Italian Design at Hangaram Art Museum of the Seoul Arts Center (SAC) in Seoul (South Korea).

The exhibition organized by Project Collective Ltd. and Artmining has the support of the Italian Embassy in South Korea and the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul, the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, KonaCard, Hyundai Department Store, Duomo&co., a.tempo, rooming, Focusis and Lighting News.

Coordinated in collaboration with Fondazione Achille Castiglioni, the show sets out to investigate the contemporary impact and value of the legacy of the Castiglioni brothers, Milanese architects and designers who were absolute protagonists of design history on an international level. Students of Achille Castiglioni, first at the Turin Polytechnic and then as collaborators at the Milan Polytechnic, the curators of the exhibition Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto had the chance to share in his design vision, and to develop it further in their careers.

Inside a space of over 1000 m2, the show examines the private side of Achille Castiglioni and his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo, entering the life of the family and the activities of the studio, while focusing on the cultural dynamics of Italy in those years. The curators thus convey a sense of the originality of a design vision capable of generating objects that have emerged over time as true design icons.

The graphic design by Migliore + Servetto Architects is enhanced by the contribution of the architect Italo Lupi in the second room, and the illustrations of Steven Guarnaccia in the fourth room.
