The final touches are in place for the 2020 edition of imm cologne (13/19 January – Cologne Fair), the historic furniture fair that has always been one of the most important appointments in this sector

In keeping with the tradition, imm cologne kicks off the new year of trade events with an opportunity to explore the economic themes and trends of the near future; an appointment always well-attended by exhibitors and visitors, though this year it comes to germs with a less than rosy economic situation, even for the German “locomotive.”

But, as always, imm cologne will do its duty, presenting new products, consolidating trends and accurately reflecting the market and its needs. From 13 to 19 January there will be approximately 1200 exhibitors, 78% from other countries.

Italy does its part: about 90 companies of Made in Italy will be on hand in Cologne to meet the rest of the world. Outstanding names include Baxter, Cassina, Cattelan, Edra, Gallotti & Radice, Giorgetti, Flexform, Knoll International, Lapalma, Lema, Minotti, Molteni, Natuzzi, Riva, Sicis

The 2020 edition will have an updated layout, with improved organization of the many theme spaces of the fair, for a more coordinated, effective visit itinerary. There are two main attractions, connected by pathways of merchandise to be explored based on one’s own interests. The booths of the new Home segment, covering the world of decor in all its aspects, occupy the northern part of the fair facility (pavilions 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 and 4.1), while the Pure universe (high-end companies and design-related themes) will be hosted in pavilions 11, 3, 2 and 4.2.

Besides Pure Atmospheres, the zone for the most important design brands, and Pure Editions, on makers of editions, there will be spaces for the 17th iteration of the Pure Talent Contest, an initiative that for several years has put the spotlight on the creative stars of tomorrow. In the same area, Pure Campus presents new developments for the next edition, with which the organizers want to allow international design schools to meeting professionals of the “furniture business.”

There are many intriguing participants in Pure Architects, the event which every two years offers a context for interior architecture, with companies engaged in various furnishing sectors including bathroom fixtures, floors, facings and the increasingly pervasive theme of the “smart home.” In this scenario a leading role is played by companies like Affreschi & Affreschi, Effegibi, Instabilelab, Iris Ceramica Group - GranitiFiandre, Margaritelli-Listone Giordano, Phormalab, Tecnografica.

“imm cologne will once again be a moment in which to study the changes in progress in the world of furniture and decor,” says Thomas Rosolia, CEO of Koelnmesse Italia. “For over 70 years imm cologne has been a concrete, forcefully business-oriented event, a showcase in which to find not only styles and trends, but also quality, business, scenarios connected to the economic progress of the various industrial segments.”
