The meeting is an occasion to share the opportunities of the Mexican market with a qualified audience of design professionals and companies. In the North American country, important public and private interventions are starting which will require evolved realities able to play the role of general contractor and deliver ‘turnkey’ works, dealing with design to the choice of suppliers, from logistics to after-sales services. Ricardo Salas Moreno talks about it with architects and designers, Italian and Mexican, who share their experience in the international contract sector, a rapidly evolving market.

Since Febraury 2020 he is Director of ITA - Italian Trade Agency branch in Mexico City, in charge of Mexico, Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. Permanent Officer at ITA since 2000, he is Past Director of Stockholm ITA Office, in charge of Scandinavian and Baltic markets and has been managing officer for promotional actions and custom services to support Italian companies After a University Degree in Political Sciences into International and Diplomacy field, he has got Master in International Trade and Commerce and Geopolitics and Security Affair; among others, he has been in charge of Promotion activities for Italian companies concerning Building materials, Restoration, Architectonical Projects and Contract at Consumer Goods Office.

Alexander Bellman, architect and lighting designer - ph. Dinah Wille

After completing a degree in architecture at Milan’s Polytechnic, he channeled his passion into lighting design and gained international recognition in 1998 with his contribution to illumination projects for Milan’s Cathedral and Scala Theatre. In 2003 he founded GruppoC14, an architect’s studio where creativity flows freely, without restrictions or hierarchy, and where the main aim is to treat projects as a tool for researching perception, investigation and for translating the inseparable connection between light and material into concrete results via a multidisciplinary approach. Multifaceted and eclectic, as well as high-profile lighting projects, he poured his talent into interior design in all its different forms: from retail to products, including high-profile residential design projects, exhibitions and events along the way, he has also made a name for himself outside Europe.

Gilda Bojardi, editor INTERNI

Lawyer, since 1994 she has been the chief editor of the magazine Interni, published by Gruppo Mondadori, and of all the publications of the INTERNI system. In 1990 she invented the FuoriSalone, the Design Week that enlivens the city of Milan each year in April, with over 500 events. As a curator, she creates and organizes cultural events and exhibitions in various countries. Honors received include: Officier des Arts et des Lettres, assigned by the French Ministry of Culture (2005); the Ambrogino d’Oro of the City of Milan, for the creation of the FuoriSalone (2007); the ITA Italian Talent Award assigned by the Chamber of Deputies in Rome (2014); and the Medalla Anáhuac en Diseño, at the time of the international conference “Diseñar para la Humanidad” in Mexico City (2019). She has been the Italian Ambassador of Design for Italian Design Day in March 2017 in Mexico City, and in March 2018 and 2019 in Madrid. In September 2020 she received the Compasso d’Oro ADI award for the career, and the Chi è Chi Awards - The Movie for the career.

Paola Calzada, architect

In 2008 Paola founded her design studio in Mexico City in which every project is aproached with an interdisciplinary view under sustainability ethic. She founded Luken Furniture in 2015, an ecological design brand, made with recycled material, to date 9,4 tons of waste has been recycled. Luken furniture has been awarded by IDA-International Design Awards, the Diseña México, and longlisted in Dezeen Awards. Paola has a Master's Degree in Industrial Design from the Scuola Futurarium of Art, Architecture e Design in Milan and an MBA from IPADE business school. In the past, she has worked with Matteo Thun & Partners in Milan and with Jsa in Mexico City. She has been recognized as one of the most outstanding female architects in her country and has shared through lectures in more than 15 mexican Colleges. She has tought in postgraduate programs at important National Universities, both public and private.

Bernardo Gòmez-Pimienta, architect - ph. Guillermo Kahlo

Architect since 1987, he is Dean of the Architecture School at the Anahuac University, emeritus member of the National Architecture Academy and member of the National System of Art Creators of CONACULTA and the Académie royale d’architecture. Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta’s work is widely acclaimed in Mexico and abroad, and awarded with national and international awards like Mies Van der Rohe Latin America prize (1998), as recognition to his architecture that reflects a contemporary vocabulary, taking into account environmental and the complexity of the cultural aspects of Mexican tradition in a globalized world. His projects have been published in books, magazines and newspapers and he has given lectures in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. He was decorated Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur by the French Republic, and in 2009 designated as honorary fellow by the American Institute of Architects and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Specialized in luxury hotels, wellness centers, SPA and residential projects, Matteo Nunziati has realized projects over the years in Italy, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, India, Maldives, China, USA. Particularly significant the collaboration with the Trump Organization, world leader in the real estate, which chose Matteo Nunziati for prestigious projects (Pune - India, Miami, New Delhi, and Kolkata). His projects, exclusive and enhanced by the skillful selection of materials and furnishings, usually chosen from the production excellence of Made in Italy design, have been published in the major Italian and international magazines. He collaborates with some of the most prestigious design brands, Molteni & C., Poliform, Flou, Lema, I 4 Mariani, Fiam, Fontana Arte, La Murrina, Rapsel, Tonon, Lualdi Porte, Listone Giordano, Florim, Kreoo, Rubelli Casa and for those products it has been awarded numerous and prestigious awards.

Trained in Milan at the Scuola Politecnica di Design and, subsequently, in Switzerland at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel, Ricardo Salas Moreno had the merit of bringing the cultural lessons of the pioneers of design and great masters of the graphic arts to Mexico. Graphic designer with his Frontespizio studio (since 1982) has designed more than 850 publications and designed over 50 corporate images. His works have been exhibited in important museums in Italy and abroad and published in well-known magazines of the sector. He has been awarded numerous prizes including the Mexican national award “Diseña México” 2016. Director of the Facultad de Diseño de la Universidad Anáhuac (Mexico City) from 2004 to end 2019, Ricardo Salas has expanded the horizons of the institute towards the international field. His efforts focus on the creation of crossover workshops that build a bridge between academia, famous Mexican companies and professionals, giving rise to the brand Diseño Anáhuac.
