A creative dialogue between artists and chefs for the 10th anniversary of illy’s support of the Venice Art Biennale, in collaboration with Guide Michelin

illycaffè updates its collaboration with La Biennale di Venezia during the 58th Venice Art Biennale titled “May You Live in Interesting Times.” Contemporary art joins forces with the everyday ritual of a cup of illy’s finest coffee, creating unusual contaminations and experiences.

To pay homage to the deep ties with the Art Biennale, extending over the last 10 editions,” says Massimiliano Pogliani, CEO of illycaffè, “we have developed a project that expresses and combines the three tenets of the illy brand - sustainability, quality and beauty – through collaboration with creative talents from the worlds of contemporary art and cuisine.”

In a series of dinner-events organized with Guide Michelin in the setting of the Le Bombarde dell’Arsenale restaurant during the six months of the exhibition, there will be creative dialogues between an artist selected by the curator of Biennale 2019 Ralph Rugoff, and an award-winning chef selected by Michelin. The chef and the artist will create a unique experience, then sold to the public through the online circuit of Guide Michelin. Part of the proceeds will be donated for the digital conversion of the photographic archives of the Venice Art Biennale.

Each artist will contribute to the creation of a decorated cup, and will take part in a special edition of the illy Art Collection slated for release in Autumn 2019.
