Warm and comfortable, a typical stube furnished with design pieces and artworks welcomes the media hub of the Italian Alpine Skiing team in Cortina. A ‘loved space’

Alpine Ski World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy), from 7 to 21 February 2021

The enthusiasm to always take on new challenges, the dedication to research aimed at achieving technical perfection, the expression of beauty declined in high quality materials but also in movement, in the dynamism of forms. Edra has always shared the values of sport.

With the conviction that Italy must be told through stories that intertwine natural scenarios and well-being, design and works of art, manual tradition and technological innovation, the Tuscan company confirms the path undertaken a few years ago with CONI and sets up Casa Italia Collection - FISI, the media hub of the Italian national team in Cortina 2021 for the alpine ski world championships.

Warm and comfortable, a typical wood-lined stube, furnished with Edra design pieces and dotted with memories of sports feats, but also with artworks, welcomes Italian athletes and journalists who will tell their stories, their impressions and above all their emotions.

The interior project of Casa Italia Collection - FISI in Cortina 2021 curated by curated by Claudia Pignatale of Secondome with the collaboration of Beatrice Bertini and Benedetta Acciari, has transformed the 5 Torri Restaurant into a place of Italian excellence celebrated in every detail.

The On The Rocks sofa by Francesco Binfarè, the Grinza and Favela armchairs by Campana brothers welcome guests in a lounge area located on the veranda, while the Margherita armchairs and Gina chairs by Jacopo Foggini decorate the stube.

To represent Italy in all its (winning) creativity, black and white photographs and works of art alternate on the walls, such as Italiette Pret'a Porter and Cuori (Hearts) by Marco BernardiIceberg by Francesca Pasquali and Spazio Amato by Massimo Uberti.

The lamps of the Clizia collection designed by Adriano Rachele for Slamp illuminate the environment, reminiscent of the simple elegance of edelweiss, while on the outside, the Allaperto Mountain collection, designed by the Matteo Thun & Partners studio for Ethimo, enhances the Casa Italia dehor.

“A loved space is something different for each of us, but always a safe harbor” say Claudia Pignatale and Beatrice Bertini. “In the context of Casa Italia Collection - FISI, this concept aims to underline that wherever Casa Italia is in the world, when you enter it, you are at home: in a place where you are welcomed. In this circumstance, the beloved space is Italy itself, where we are and where we come to support our athletes”.

“We recognize in sport the strong values that have animated our company for over thirty years” says Monica Mazzei, vice president of Edra, a company born in Tuscany in 1987 and is now recognized worldwide for the high quality (and recognizable) of its furnishings that combine artistic and manual tradition, technological research and quality materials. “Passion first of all, but also the daily discipline in doing our job and the ability to dare. For this reason, once again this year Edra is witness, with his collection, of the excellence that comes from the desire to go further and further, in healthy global competition”.

Casa Italia Collection is the new CONI format that was born on the occasion of Cortina 2021: to the high-level sport of sports federations it combines major international events and Italian excellence in all its form: art, design, tradition and innovation.
