Today, at the award ceremony of the XXVI Compasso d'Oro, Interni director Gilda Bojardi received the Compasso d'Oro for her career

A constant commitment to spreading the culture of design in Italy and in the world. This is the reason that prompted the jury of the ADI XXVI Compasso d’Oro  to award the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to Gilda Bojardi, director of Interni.

A recognition that comes on the thirtieth anniversary of the FuoriSalone, conceived by Gilda Bojardi in 1990 (the original registered name, Interni Designer's Week Milano, is the same that our magazine uses for the schedule of events and the guide that will accompany the Milano Design City 2020 from 28 September to 10 October 2020).

I have to say a big thank you to all the accidental and sought-after encounters that life has granted me, and to all those people I have had the opportunity to know in greater depth in my career who have enriched and stimulated me in discovering, as a wannabe lawyer, the wonderful world of design and architecture, satisfying my curiosity more than generously.

The Compasso d'Oro is the latest of the awards that Gilda Bojardi has collected over the years to honor her constant commitment to promoting the culture of design. In 2005 she was made Officier des Arts et des Lettres, an honor from the French Ministry of Culture. In 2007 she received the Ambrogino d’Oro from the City of Milan for conceiving the FuoriSalone and in 2014 the ITA Italian Talent Award from the Chamber of Deputies of Rome. She was Ambassador of Italian Design for the Italian Design Day in March 2017 in Mexico City, and in March 2018 and 2019 in Madrid. In October 2019 she was awarded the Medalla Anáhuac en Diseño 2019 during the international conference.

Since 1994 she has been editor-in-chief of the magazine Interni and of all the publications of its system, both printed and online. She creates and organizes cultural events and exhibitions in different countries of the world, including the exhibition-event that every year animates the courtyards of the University of Milan, the Brera Botanical Garden and the Audi City Lab during the FuoriSalone in April.
