Opening at the gates of Milan of the new home of the pharmaceutical multinational Zambon: Z-Life is located inside the OpenZone scientific campus. This is an important step in a growth project that will expand the campus with new spaces for offices and research laboratories thanks to overall investment of about 60 million euros.
The architectural design by Michele De Lucchi calls for the construction of two towers with spaces for advanced research and offices for the new Zoners, companies and startups of the campus, featuring innovative ideas in the field of human health. Inside Z-LIFE, whose interiors have been designed by the studio Carlo Ratti Associati, there are no walls. An open structure permits ongoing adaptation to the new needs of the contemporary office.
The facility complies with the most modern criteria of sustainability and features technologically advanced solutions for the BMS (Building Management System), a system that permits monitoring and management of climate control, lights and security using sensors.
The project of expansion of the OpenZone campus involves all the lines of business of Arcadis Italia, the engineering firm that has worked on all aspects of the project, from digitalization of the architectural proposals to cost control, hydrogeological analysis of flood risk to decontamination of the areas containing the new headquarters, laboratories, offices and coworking spaces.
