The special circular shape of Swing is a tribute to free time. An unprecedented format, designed to fluently unite space, time and rhythm in a single dimension: three variables that determine our lives every day. Swing was born as a tribute to free time.
A project conceived with the aim of rediscovering the pleasure of lightness, of playing outdoors and of the most genuine fun that comes from simplicity.
“A project - declared the mayor of Buccinasco Rino Pruiti and the deputy mayor Rosa Palone - that we have been working on with great commitment for a year and a half. Thanks to the fruitful collaboration between the parties, we have managed to ensure that this important initiative took shape. A special thanks to Amazon Italy for choosing Buccinasco for this generous donation and to the architect Stefano Boeri, who has made his experience and design talent available to us to create this significant partnership”.
“It is beautiful when projects continue to live even beyond the initially set purpose, especially when they are inserted into the social fabric of a community. Amazon firmly believes in the importance of dialogue and constant comparison with all the institutions, administrations and entities that live and operate in the territories where it is present with its sites”, underlines Mariangela Marseglia, Amazon Country Manager for Italy and Spain. “It is with great pleasure that we inaugurate the installation of the SWING swing, a gift for the community that hosts us and a gesture of gratitude for how it has welcomed us since 2018”.
“SWING is a large collective swing, an example of how design, sometimes ironic, but functional, can play an important role in our society, fostering intense relationships, joy and inclusiveness. We are therefore happy that an installation designed for the Fuorisalone has not ended up in the waste bin or forgotten, but rather can begin a second life, in this case as a play space for children and adults in the municipality of Buccinasco.” - says architect Stefano Boeri, Founder of Stefano Boeri Interiors. “From the beginning, we designed this installation thinking about how a community could benefit from it. With its circular shape and the 24 seats that compose it, this large carousel stimulates interaction, exchange and dialogue, it is an invitation to sharing through play” - concludes architect Giorgio Donà, Partner and Director of Stefano Boeri Interiors.
