Geometric patterns and floral reliefs bring an air of handicraft to the first floor of the historic market of San Lorenzo: the ‘Déco Perlage’ collection of the company Tagina Ceramiche D’Arte is the protagonist of the renovation project for the Mercato Centrale in Florence, entering the shops of what has become a new contemporary gathering place.
The floors feature the Hard Rock Beton collection – by Tagina Ceramiche d’Arte – in the compact 20 mm version. The choice of Deco Perlage, in particular, is based on the need to conserve the original image of the market, also from the standpoint of finishes and facings.
The first floor of the market of San Lorenzo, renovated thanks to a project by Archea Associati, is dominated by a protective architecture to bring out the lightness and luminosity of the 19th-century framework of iron and cast iron.
The airy atmosphere is emphasized by the use of simple, natural materials, flexible furnishings and large wicker and reed lamps that discreetly fill the large space of the market. An open display system offers full visibility for the food preparation.
