The project Back to the Land is not simply an exhibition. It is one step along a virtual path that is calling into play contemporary art on a global level, as a tool with which to focus on ecological issues.

In this movement Italy plays a leading role, relying on the heritage of movements like Arte Povera to lay the groundwork for todays artistic research.

The exhibition at Studio la Città in Verona is part of an extremely complex and delicate panorama, featuring the work of 7 young artists. Though the objective is not to openly represent a moment of dissent, or to produce yet another outcry based on lists of ecological disasters, Back to the Land sets out to reflect on the importance of human actions, the sense of responsibility and the power of the language of contemporary art in this context.
