MAXXI and Alcantara join forces to explore the possibilities of a famous material whose artistic and creative potential is still an open field for discoveries. This is the meaning of the project: experimental research that becomes a co-produced exhibition. At the National Museum of the Arts of theXXI Century (via Guido Reni 4), the show sets out to examine the versatility of a unique, innovative material, through new territoriies and original interpretations. Eleven international design talents, selected for their passion for experimentation with materials by Domitilla Dardi, the Design curator of MAXXI Architettura, and Giulio Cappellini, artistic director of Alcantara, offer their visions and interpretations of Alcantara in striking installations, each emphasizing a particular aspect of the material. The designers are: Massimiliano Adami, François Azambourg, Giulio Cappellini, Lorenzo Damiani, Paola Navone, Oki Sato Nendo, Patrick Norguet, Satyendra Pakhalé, Raw Edges – Yeal Mer & Shay Alkalay, Marcel Wanders, Nika Zupanc.
