Opening, on Wednesday 26 February in Vienna, Danube City, of the DC 1 Tower designed by the architect Dominique Perrault. With a height of 250 meters and 60 floors, this is the tallest building in all of Austria. It stands out for its extraordinary slender “bent” facade structure. The building is mostly for offices, though the upper levels are set aside for skylofts and a restaurant, while the first 15 levels will contain a four-star hotel run by the Spanish group Sol Meliá. This is one of the first office towers to be built and equipped to meet the energy and sustainability standards for “green buildings” issued by the European Commission.
