The first stone was recently laid for the construction of the Euromed Center, a project by Massimiliano & Doriana Fuksas, part of a public program known as Euroméditerranée for the renewal of certain urban areas of Marseille, through international architecture competitions. Massimiliano & Doriana Fuksas won this competition in 2006. With over 70,000 m2 of space, the future Euromed Center will be composed of: 4 buildings for HQE certified offices (high environmental quality) with the BBC- Effinergie trademark (low-consumption buildings), for a total of 48,000 m2 to host about 3000 persons; a 4-star business hotel; a pedestrian walkway with about 2000 m2 of shops and services; a public parking area; 5000 m2 of green spaces, including 4000 for a new public park, the Jardin d'Arenc; a multiplex cinema. The project as a whole includes the collaboration of the studios: Lehoux – Phily – Samaha, International d’Architecture, Mathoulin & Jardin, Michel Desvigne Paysagiste.
