Palazzo Giureconsulti – Piazza Mercanti 2 – Milan – until 14 February 2019
Milan pays tribute to Franco Cardinali in the setting of Palazzo Giureconsulti with a retrospective exhibition: Franco Cardinali. Inquietudine necessaria curated by Raffaella Resch.
Over forty works offer an overview of the output of the artist from Liguria, trained in the Parisian environment of Montparnasse of the École de Paris, the group of artists and intellectuals operating in Paris between the two World Wars.
For Franco Cardinali art is an ongoing reflection, a permanent evolution, continuous introspection, an endless process of perfection of painting technique and the message to be conveyed. He mixed traditional oil paints with earthy materials and clay to create thick, composite surfaces that reveal an intense, deep relationship with nature.
