MAXXI Architecture (via Guido reni 4/A), directed by Margherita Guccione, presents an exhibition on the great modern master of architecture and design, focusing on suggestions of Italy in his career and work: from travels in his youth, to projects never constructed. “The Italy of Le Corbusier” illustrates the impact of Italy in the cultural and design path of Le Corbusier from the years of his training to the design opportunities in Italy in the final years of his career. The exhibition itinerary tracks changing viewpoints, interests and ends with which Le Corbusier looks at Italy in the different periods of his life, documenting his influence on the Italian architectural panorama. At the entrance to the museum a reading room furnished with icons by Cassina – the main sponsor of the exhibition – created by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, welcomes visitors, offering a chance to sit and browse through books like the monograph “Made in Cassina”, and the new book edited by Arthur Rüegg on the interiors and furnishings of Le Corbusier, “Meubles et Intérieurs 1905-1965”, where the work of Cassina is narrated in great detail. www.fondazionemaxxi.com.
