Ulisse Sartini. Tribute to Leonardo
Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie – Sacrestia del Bramante – Via Caradosso 1, Milan
From 16 December 2018 to 13 January 2019
Ulisse Sartini pays tribute to Leonardo da Vinci to mark the 500th anniversary of his death, with over thirty paintings and a similar number of drawings. The exhibition presents a cycle of paintings made in 2018 inspired by the masterpieces of Leonardo: the Mona Lisa, the Madonna of the Yarnwinder, the Annunciation, the Belle Ferronière…
The event is held close to the Last Supper and continues the dialogue that began in 2016 with the exhibition of Sartini’s large painting on the mystery of the eucharist, now in the cathedral of Piacenza.
Ulisse Sartini pays homage to the genius from Vinci, courageously coming to grips with the beauty Leonardo was able to generate.
The exhibition is accompanied by an important volume published by Edizioni Crocevia, edited by Giovanni Gazzaneo, with images of the works alongside reproductions of the paintings of Leonardo.
