On the Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore, an exhibition curated by Marino Barovier. In the new spaces restored by Annabelle Selldorf, the show reconstructs the creative career of Carlo Scarpa through over 300 works, from the years in which he was the artistic director of the Venini glassworks (1932 to 1947). The exhibition is the first public initiative of Le Stanze del Vetro, a multi-year cultural project launched by Fondazione Giorgio Cini in collaboration with Pentagram Stiftung for the study and conservation of 20th-century Venetian glass. The opening of the exhibition Carlo Scarpa. Venini 1932–1947 coincides with the opening of a new permanent exhibition space, that will host a series of solo and group shows of international artists who have used glass as an original tool of expression and medium of poetic research. The goal is to reveal the boundless potential of this material, bringing it back to the center of the international artistic debate.
