The research work and the implementations carried out with the Umbria Region, the Civil Protection Department, the Engineering Department of the University of Perugia and the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia were at the heart of the meeting with Vasco Errani, Special Commissioner of the Government for reconstruction in the Central Italian areas hit by the earthquake, Catiuscia Marini, President of the Umbria Region, Stefano Boeri, architect, Diego Zurli, director of the infrastructure and public works department of the Umbria Region, Paolo Verducci from the Engineering Department of the University of Perugia, and Paolo Belardi, director of the Academy of Fine Arts “Pietro Vannucci” of Perugia.

Giving life to an idea of reconstruction” commented Vasco Errani “means working with an evolutionary and not defeatist approach on the post-seismic landscape. Managing the emergency period, giving a priority to manufacturing activities, food and agriculture and schools. Preserving the bond of local communities with the territories damaged by the recent earthquake”.

For this reason”, added Stefano Boeri “we must admit that safety is a fundamental value. Even when we feel the need to do things immediately”.
