To promote the ceramics district in the world and beyond its own context, through operations of cultural value and through the languages of design. This is the ambitious goal of the exhibition “The Seven Cities” by Luca Scacchetti at the Pinacoteca Civica of Savona, which will stop in Milan at the Oratorio della Passione in Sant’Ambrogio. Seven cities, like the overall number of the “Madonnette” that take form in the watercolors the Milanese architect and designer has created based on the theme of the fantasy cities of Italo Calvino: cities constructed with maniacal repetition of a theme, repeating a single constructive element. The cities are Ciminiera, Gradonia, Roofiana, Turrina, Arconia, Pilastra and Strambia, seven towns that thanks to the encounter of Luca Scacchetti and master ceramist Tullio Mazzotti become “aediculae” along the lines of those found at intersections in Albisole. At the end of the show in Milan, the seven aediculae will be positioned at historic buildings in the Ligurian towns of Albissola Mare and Savona, in dialogue with the existing heritage of Madonnette, to create a new circuit of urban values and features. The exhibition has been created and organized under the aegis of ADI Liguria with creative direction by Angelo Dadda (CEO of the Looping communications agency).
