The innovative anti-seismic and anti-vibration platform for the Pietà Rondanini in its new display in the space of the Ospedale Spagnolo at the Sforza Castle wins the prestigious Global Best Project award in the Specialty Construction category, assigned by the magazine Engineering News‐Record.
The Milan-based company Goppion Spa engineered and built the cylindrical metal pedestal for the statue, over the anti-seismic device of the Japanese company THK with Miyamoto International.
The plinth is part of the new display designed by Michele De Lucchi in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, the City of Milan and the conservators of the Sforza Castle.
