An area of 170 square meters, a concept balanced between past and present, a view of the 10th arrondissement in Paris and the character of a context of industrial archaeology.

The interior design project by Festen Architecture for an apartment near Place de la Republique conveys the full impression of a New York loft: the spaces are fluid, the functions separated only where necessary, the high ceilings enhanced by existing structural members in steel. The large rectangular windows are paced by typical iron frames from the early 1900s.

The Ego kitchen by Abimis reflects the same desire to combine antithetical extremes: the functional quality of a professional kitchen is matched with a layout of the blocks that responds to the personal needs of a private client. The steel used for all the custom products made by the firm gives this solution a sculptural character of sophisticated uniformity.
