Part of the world heritage listings of UNESCO since 2005, Casa Batllò, an architectural gem by Antoni Gaudí, has an area of over 5000 m2, on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona.
A spectacle of symbolism and colors, where the trencadís, the typical Catalan mosaic, ‘explodes’ on the facade with tiles of colored glass and ceramic disks, creating a striking setting for iron balustrades in the form of masks and the tapered stone columns, like bones, enhanced by floral motifs.
The interiors of this authentic wonder of Spanish Modernism built in 1904-06 are lit by the remarkable creations of Catellani & Smith.
The Italian company has decorated the former residence of the Batllò family with the golden suspended sculpture Macchina della Luce, the PostKrisi wall lamps and the gold Bella lamp.
