The National Museum of Science and Technology presents the Cavallerizze, a new building that is the result of an important project of architectural and urban redevelopment financed by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism and the National Museum of Science and Technology.

The project, directed by the Regional Secretariat for the Lombardy region, in coordination with the museum, was designed by the architect Luca Cipelletti and consisted in the functional recovery of existing volumes and the reconstruction of those demolished by wartime bombing, with the objective of creating new exhibition areas and museum services for a total of 1800 square meters.

The public opening of Cavallerizze will take place in coordination with the 21st Milan Triennale, the design event happening in the city from April 2 to September 12, 2016, in which the museum participates along with other museums and cultural institutions.

The involvement of the museum consists in hosting some of the national exhibits of Triennale 2016 inside the Cavallerizze, as well as the organization of the temporary exhibition “Confluence” that interprets the theme “design after design” and offers, on weekends, the educational program “Fai da tech” aimed at young people and families.
