The logo, like a digital origami, becomes a metaphor of making, evoking the values of the Italian food and agriculture system, anchored to the earth and the everyday work of farmers.
“Cibus in Fabula” is an artistic project created by the digital storyteller Felice Limosani, which through a live exhibition presents 13 murals made by international street artists, all remixed in a video installation with digital animations. The result is a live performance visible on the outer facade of the “Cibus è Italia” – Federalimentare Expo 2015 pavilion, to narrate the main themes of the Expo in an engaging way.
Food, nutrition and the planet are narrated through two different contemporary languages that take form in a unique live performance for which Felice Limosani has invited 13 names from the international art scene. Every individual mural will come to life through video art, the expressive code of Limosani. Urban art flanked by technology to amaze, provoke and reflection, through creativity, on the excesses, paradoxes and absurdities of our planet.
The installation is composed of an LED wall at the center, of great visual impact (7×10 meters), between two lateral wings with two murals on canvas, 70 m2 each: two different media, “spray paint and pixels” to represent 13 site-specific stories. Throughout the event, the artists and Felice Limosani will alternate every two weeks, “reshaping” the image of the exhibition space on the Italian food industry, set up by Federalimentare and Fiere di Parma.
The kickoff story of Cibus in Fabula is Picture of Health by the duo Felice Limosani – Maser (1-13 May), where the concepts will be nutrition, force, mind, physique and the equation “health is wellbeing.” A tribute to the “know-how of peasants” in Italy and the world will be offered by the performance Communicating Vessels (12-24 June) by the duo Agostino Iacurci and Felice Limosani.
The project Cibus in Fabula, in particular, will be enhanced by a large calendar of events held inside the Federalimentare pavilion and in showrooms in Milan. An experiential voyage through agriculture, food and design, sharing the same history of tradition and craftsmanship.
The works created by the artists will then be gathered in a group show set up during Cibus, the international food fair, held at Fiere di Parma from 9 to 12 May 2016, then becoming a cultural event elsewhere in the world.
