The pop-up hotel set up by Ikea and Tom Dixon in Lisbon for the best night’s sleep

Ikea, with the designer Tom Dixon, invites friends to experience how home furnishings can improve sleep.

For one night five people can sleep in the rooms created by Ikea in a pop-up hotel in Lisbon, Portugal: Hotel Delaktig.

The protagonist of the event is the Delaktig collection launched about a year ago and designed by Tom Dixon and James Futcher, Creative Leader of Ikea.

We have defined it as an open-source platform, while Tom continued to call the bed an authorized hack, so we couldn’t stop after the first launch of Delaktig“, says James Futcher. “The bed is a key factor in any house: we all need to get a good night’s sleep. This is why we have decided to expand the series with a bedframe, which can also be completely personalized.”

Available starting in February 2019, the Delaktig bedframe moves forward with the idea behind the series of sofas, encouraging transformation and customization.

Available in a queen-size format with a choice of different mattresses, the platform easily adapts to different styles and concepts of comfort. As for all the other pieces in the collection, it is possible to add, remove and move the accessories based on one’s way of living or, in this case, of sleeping.
