HeidelbergCement has completed the acquisition of a 45% share of Italcementi from Italmobiliare.
The operation joins the excellence of two major industrial groups, preserving the Italian character of Italcementi.
Italcementi conserves its brand, its industrial and cultural identity and the tradition of over 150 years of history, confirming its position in the Italian market of construction materials.
Starting with the top management, which continues to be Italian. Roberto Callieri, in fact, is the new CEO.
The company will continue to produce and market cement, concrete and aggregates in Italy, using Italian resources, services and workers.
The merger of HeidelbergCement and Italcementi produces the worlds largest producer of aggregates, the second largest of cement and the third largest of concrete, with over 63,000 employees in over 3000 production sites, in 60 countries on five continents.
The total capacity of the 156 cement plants is equal to about 200 million tons.
