The sixth edition of the architecture competition organized by Confindustria Ceramica and Cersaie sets out to grant visibility to the best creations made with Italian ceramic tiles.

The competition covers three architectural categories (institutional buildings/urban furnishings, residential and commercial/hospitality), for projects built in Italy and elsewhere. The participating architects and interior designers have to be residents of Italy, and submit works completed between January 2014 and January 2017.

The competition guidelines and registration forms are available at the website www.laceramicaeilprogetto.it.

Participation is completely free of charge, and it is possible to submit more than one project in the same category or different categories, by the deadline of 10 May.

The initiative focuses on new works, renovations or architectural regeneration project, concentrating on the use of ceramic products from the companies that are members of Ceramics of Italy, the trademark that guarantees the Italian quality and excellence.

The jury composed of the architects Mario Cucinella, Cherubino Gambardella and Fulvio Irace will assess the projects based on criteria of creativity, functional quality and aesthetic taste, examining the design as a whole, the use of ceramic tiles, and the quality of their installation. The winning designers in each category will receive a prize of 5000 euros.

The winners will be announced at the end of June 2017 in Palermo, during a Ceramics of Italy event done in collaboration with the local association of architects.

The selected works will be featured in an exhibition at the Architectural Gallery during Cersaie, the international fair of ceramics for architecture and bath furnishings, in Bologna from 25 to 29 September.
