Thanks to sales growth of 30%, reaching 40 million euros in 2014, and in line with the outlook for 50 million this year, the company from Emilia has opened a fourth production line that from July 2015 will be added to the three existing plants, for an overall production potential of a million sheets per year.
This expansion not only increases production capacity for ceramic sheets in the 1000×3000 mm format with variable thickness, but also launches a new product, the extra-large sheets up to 1600×3200 mm with thickness from 6 to 20 mm, opening up a wide new range of applications.
The strong point of the new Laminam production system is the Gea press system, an avant-garde pressing technology that calls for spreading powders directly on the ribbon, without special trolleys: the sheet is therefore free of any tension and can expand in perfect regularity, without defects, even in the new large sizes, reducing energy consumption by 50% over traditional pressing systems.
The decoration while damp of the sheets is done by a group of three maxi Rotocolor® units that represent the most complete and technologically advanced solution for the decorating of large ceramic sheets, joined by two Creadigit digital technology groups to add unique precision even in the most complex graphic designs. The new firing area, with a length of about 140 meters rather than the previous 80, has an initial drying phase with rapid cycle and a system of gas kilns to permit firing of thicker sheets in less than 100 minutes.
The new 1600×3200 series with a thickness of 12 mm will be presented at Marmomacc from 30 September to 3 October in Verona.
