Andrea Illy and Alberto Alessi have announced a collaboration to develop and produce an original coffeemaker: Pulcina.

The Pulcina espresso maker designed by Michele De Lucchi is the result of a long collaboration that began fifteen years ago, between Alessi and illycaffè, with the aim of improving the functioning of the classic ‘moka’ coffeemaker, creating a form that would bring out the aroma and flavor of the coffee.

Pulcina meets the needs of consumers who do not want to give up the pleasure of making a good cup of coffee at home: in Italy, over 20 million families use such espresso coffeemakers every day.

The project is based on the sharing of a legacy of research, in pursuit of excellence, creativity, high quality and innovation. Knowledge gained in almost a century of history, making these two companies famous on an international scale, one as a reference point for the finest coffee, the other as the most authoritative Italian ‘design factory.’
