MSC Crociere andFincantieri have reached an important phase in the construction of the MSC Seaside, that of the “coin ceremony,” part of the ancient seafaring tradition.

The first of the two ships of the next generation of the Seaside class of MSC Crociere will enter service in December 2017, with Caribbean cruises departing from Miami throughout the year.

MSC Seaside is the fifth consecutive prototype of a completely MSC new cruise ship, demonstrating the ongoing commitment of the company to offer its guests the most modern and technologically advanced ships, meeting the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s cruise passengers.

Inspired by a futuristic concept of a seagoing apartment, this specific category brings passengers closer to the water, emphasizing the beauty of the natural surroundings.

The vision behind this ship was to create something truly unique, drawing on the vocation for innovation and attention to every detail of the company, with a focus on Mediterranean elegance.

Each detail of the ship has been designed to offer cruise passengers maximum enjoyment of outdoor spaces in every aspect of their lives on board, from the cabins and suites with their outdoor zones, to the open dining and bar areas, the outdoor fitness facilities and the luxurious cabanas for spa treatments.

323 meters long and with gross tonnage of 154,000, the ship can accommodate over 5200 cruise passengers. MSC Seaside is the first of two sister ships of Seaside generation. Her twin will enter service in 2018. Then there is the option for the construction of a third ship of the Seaside series, with delivery by 2021.
