Ultra-modern eyewear in a historical building: the project by PiùStore for the restyling of Ottica Tullino
The project by PiùStore for Ottica Tullino in Naples comes from the need to update the image of an existing point of sale, creating a more modern space in line with the store’s clientele target, in search of exclusive eyewear with a futuristic or vintage look, from remarkable limited-edition collections.
The store is located in Chiaia in a period building, where Via Cavallerizza becomes very narrow. It has just 20 square meters of sales area on the ground floor, and 20 for a loft that is used as a storeroom.
The restyling by store designer Adriana Genro came to grips first of all with the exterior: the new shopfront, a custom creation in iron, takes its cue from traditional English call boxes. Inside, the first decision was to eliminate the plasterboard divider to create a more open space, while making an hole in the slab of the loft to permit communication between the two levels.
All the plasterboard facings have been removed. The structural walls of the building now display their original surfaces: layers of old bricks alternating with local volcanic stone. The plasterboard ceiling has also been scrapped, revealing the metal joists.
Future and past join forces to create a trend-setting atmosphere that enhances the products selected for an exclusive clientele.
