The voyage of Lago to discovery Italian living began in 2016. With an installation at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, the company welcomed audiences to an all-Italian journey through spaces from different eras and contexts. From Palladio to the Mediterranean, from noble palaces to gourmet restaurants, the itinerary extended throughout the peninsula, presenting 10 Italian interiors in public and private spaces.
This was the beginning of Never stop designing space, the first book by Lago. A volume in which ten places in Italy become a visual and textual exploration that celebrates the excellence of the Italian culture of habitation, a tour – also in images – through a sequence of different interiors that share one factor: Lago design. Spaces designed in an empathetic way with respect to their host cities, where interiors and exteriors face off in an extraordinary dialogue.
The objective of Lago is to demonstrate how design can be a tool to investigate important themes, such as the enhancement of the values of the Italian culture of living.
