The Chekhov residential complex in Moscow is essential and rigorous in its forms

Located in the city center but also immersed in nature, the Chekhov residential complex in Moscow is essential and rigorous in its forms

The Chekhov residential complex in Moscow, designed by Tsimailo Lyashenko & Partners and located at the edge of the Hermitage Garden has a rectangular plan for a volume of three stories plus the ground level containing the entrances, the lobby and access to the underground parking garage.

The rigorous volume is made expressive by the relationship between full and empty parts. The apartments are filled with natural light from large windows open to the park, and from the terraces on the upper level.

The project provides the advantages of life in the city center with constant contact with nature, underlined by the choice of natural materials: stone and pale wood for the floors and facings, burnished brass and glass for the windows.

The window frames and built-in sunscreens, in burnished brass, play a key role to give the complex its identity, through a contemporary language based on subtle chromatic effects.

The main facade looks towards the park with full glazings, paced by slender vertical bands marked by sunscreens that are an integral part of the casements, made with the EBE 85 sections by Secco Sistemi.
