Edison and FAI Fondo Ambiente Italiano announce a joint project for local communities, to create shared value while putting energy at the service of the territory
“The growth of the country depends on the sustainable development of social and territorial contexts, and this is why Edison does not see itself only as a provider of solutions, but also as an active part of the ecosystem in which it operates. The collaboration with FAI is a concrete example of how to guarantee a positive visitor experience, minimizing waste and CO2 emissions. We would like to thank FAI for this opportunity to implement concrete social and environmental commitment to complete and enhance the beauty of our artistic heritage,” say Paolo Quaini, director of Energy and Environmental Services of Edison.
FAI has activated, since 2015, a process of energy efficiency in its buildings, for a reduction of CO2 emissions of 15% over a span of ten years. A plan of consumption monitoring has been put in place, while inefficient heating systems have been removed, and over 1200 light bulbs have been replaced with modern LED lamps.
Launched with interventions at the Cavallerizza in Milan, the headquarters of the Foundation, the collaboration continues at Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan, Villa e Collezione Panza in Varese, Villa dei Vescovi at Luvigliano di Torreglia (Padua) and Castello e Parco di Masino at Caravino (Turin).
Edison, besides providing electricity and gas for FAI, will equip several parking areas of the Foundation with recharging stations for electric cars, available for use by the many visitors and employees.
