Debut of the best designers of Istituto Marangoni
Unveiling of the most innovative works created by 9 students of Product, Interior and Visual Design. Three large video projections engagingly narrated the results achieved by young talents during the course of the year at the School of Design of Istituto Marangoni in Milan.
In the field of Product Design the projects are connected with the themes of nature and flexibility of functions and use. Margherita Sala showed her idea for the Pump Table, a low table that uses the natural cycle of growth of a pumpkin as part of its production process. Arthur Roth Le Gentil proposed Orbit, a personalized interactive furnishing system based on a device that in just a few steps is transformed into a surface for working, eating or conversation. Rafaela Vieira, with Saudade, has imagined a pop-up furnishing system for easy transport, also for use in temporary shelters.
For Interior Design, the three selected students all began with one of the most fascinating and symbolic space in Milan, Teatro Manzoni, imagining its transformation as a headquarters and multifunctional facility, each for a different luxury company: Antonio Marras, Versace and Miu Miu. The work done by Natali Vorotnykova, Sharon Foglietta and Belen Arocena started with analysis of the identity and necessities of the brand, as well as a study of the potential and particularities of the assigned space, leading to three projects, each with its own personality and atmosphere.
Three very different works were selected for the Visual Design area. Yuetong Shi presented a visual identity project for the record album “Alte montagne e flussi fluenti” produced by the Chinese musician Bo Ya. Raushaniya Urmanshina imagined a useful, intuitive mobile application for the I Love Poke Hawaiian healthy fast-food restaurant, while Jiayi Wang concentrated on a simple but effective environmental communications campaign for the city of Milan.
