Applications are now being accepted to participate in the Wienerberger Brick Award 2018, the biennial architecture prize for innovative use of brick.

Until 20 April 2017 designers, architects, critics and journalists can nominate projects, at the site www.brickaward.com, that feature the use of brick, in the 8th edition of the awards.

The awards are in five categories: Feeling at home: single-family houses, tract houses and small residential projects; Living together: multifamily houses; Working together: office buildings and industrial facilities; Sharing public spaces: schools, cultural and health care buildings, public spaces, infrastructures; Building outside the box: innovative concepts and new usage modes for brick.

A jury of journalists and critics will select 50 finalist projects for the Wienerberger Brick Award 2018, which will be inserted in the publication “Brick 18.” Then an international jury of architects will choose 5 winners in the individual categories, and the winner of the Grand Prize, announced at an official ceremony in Vienna in the spring of 2018.
