The new space of the Italian design firm has recently been opened in the Belgian capital, at Avenue Louise 154. A showroom of 150 m2, all in blue, the color of the brand. The opening, based on the theme of art and design, featured the encounter of three important figures: Giulio Cappellini, talent scout and trendsetter, but also an art enthusiast, Matteo Negri, the Milanese artist, and Sylvain Willenz, the young Belgian designer. Two exhibitions were set up for the occasion: Drop me a line, a selection of seven works by Matteo Negri on the theme of Lego bricks: from resin knots to sheet-metal maps, objects that tread the fine line between art sculpture and design. And Cappellini Next, the scouting project by Giulio Cappellini already presented during Design Week in Milan, an installation of self-produced prototypes, shown as they were originally conceived by their designers, in total freedom. The projects come from all over the world, with the aim of analyzing how contemporary design thinking moves at different latitudes, and they clearly reflect geographical and cultural influences.
