Among the consequences of the health emergency are the changes in the way of living the domestic daily life. The greater amount of time spent at home has brought out new ways of relating to spaces. The 'centralization' process that the kitchen has been experiencing in recent years, for example, has undergone a radical acceleration which, in fact, has made it a 'new living room' dedicated to conviviality.
Starting from these considerations, Signature Kitchen Suite has decided to actively involve the world of design through the SKS De-Sign Contest / The revolution of the home begins in the kitchen, a competition aimed at rethinking the role of this environment within the home, stimulating a dialogue on how current trends reflect the real needs of the consumer. The contest summarizes the three key elements of the brand's DNA: innovation, understood as technology capable of responding to people's needs; design, that is to say the way in which to rethink spaces and make different environments communicate with each other; food, a key concept of the brand right from its claim, "True to Food", and the question of how much quality food can impact on design.
The 'challenge' is aimed at two categories that compete separately: Italian architects, resident in Italy and registered in the register; and Italian students, resident in our country, aged between 23 and 30, enrolled in the last year of the Degree in Architecture (old system) or in the second year of the Specialized Degree in Architecture or Interior Design at a public or private Italian university. Participants are invited to present domestic living space projects related to the sphere of 'cooking', rethought in the light of the new trends stimulated by the changes underway. The projects presented must include at least two appliances chosen from the Signature Kitchen Suite range, and be accompanied by an explanatory text of the concept that highlights the solutions adopted and how they respond to new needs and trends.
The projects can be uploaded to the dedicated platform from 7 April to 30 June, the winners will be announced in September during the Salone del Mobile during an awards ceremony that will take place at the SKS showroom in Milan in via Manzoni 47, at the corner of Piazza Cavour.
