During the latest edition of Ecomondo (5/8 November) at the Rimini Fair, Arcadis Italia offered an in-depth look at the Digital Asset Lifecycle. Through four lines of business (Environment, Water, Buildings, Infrastructure), the firm can support clients across the entire life cycle of an asset: feasibility studies, design and planning, conversion, management and maintenance.
The Arcadis stand featured a large backlit image of the island of Manhattan and the project co-produced by Arcadis by commission for the government of New York City: The Big U. Following the damages caused by Hurricane Sandy, the city of New York decided to equip the island of Manhattan with a flood-defense system integrated with the sustainable urban system utilized on a daily basis by the population. Green areas, bicycle paths, basketball courts and much more have been designed.
During the four days of Ecomondo the firm also presented the program Arcadis City of 2030 Accelerator developed in collaboration with Techstars. The objective is to support start-ups based on innovative software aimed at improving quality of life in cities for all sectors: mobility, resilience, resources (energy, water, food and air), urban regeneration and development.
Where the theme of resilience is concerned, thanks to an integrated approach Arcadis can provide in-depth risk analysis in cities, allowing clients to identify and prioritize investments to boost resilience in urban centers, maximizing benefits and safeguarding critical resources.
