In a press conference today Claudio Luti, president of the Salone del Mobile, confirmed the work to ensure the running of the event in September, at the same time asking for clarity from the authorities on the official restart of the fairs and inviting companies to create a system

“The Salone del Mobile.Milano is our precious tool for the restart, it is for the sector, for Milan, for the whole country”, afferma Claudio Luti, confirmed as president of the Salone del Mobile.Milano with the new Federlegno corporate structure Events furniture.

On the sidelines of two meetings, respectively with the mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala and the president of the Region Attilio Fontana, which took place this morning, Luti underlines: “There are only a few months left until the date set for the 2021 edition and we are working to ensure that the event takes place and reassure companies and visitors. But there are still some knots to be solved that are absolutely independent of our possibilities.

Up to now we have worked within the Salone del Mobile.Milano and with FederlegnoArredo – and each in their own companies – to be ready in September after a long absence with the best possible event and the widest possible range of new products and creativity.

Everyone wants a Salone for business but also to rediscover that socialization that has been lacking so much in these very hard and painful months of pandemic. But now it is essential that the institutions give us precise answers. We asked the mayor and the Governor for the support needed to make Milan, in September, with the Salone, the engine of the restart. But we are waiting for certainties from the Government.

For this reason, in a note prepared for the competent ministers and for Fiera Milano we ask for clarity on the possibility of restarting the fairs. Only if in the DPCM of 6 April there is the go-ahead for the fairs will we be able to confirm our work.

It is essential for us the certain date of the restart of the trade fairs in the next DPCM, but also a definition of the Vaccine Plan and the real timing for reaching a number of vaccinated people that allows Italy to be considered a safe country to welcome visitors. foreigners.

In support of this, we are asking for an international promotion campaign for the Salone del Mobile precisely to affirm this moment as the first real economic and social relaunch not only in Italy.

It will also be important to have reassurances from the Government regarding a health passport or “digital green pass” which must have relevance in the ownership of access to the fair. Finally, we will need to have guarantees on the timing envisaged by the main carriers for the continuous resumption of international flights. We have a few weeks to have the protocols and guarantees defined. At the same time we continue to work tirelessly to be ready in September”.

“In order to achieve all this, it is equally important – underlines the president Luti – that companies are united, trust the Show and continue to believe in the importance of being there all together to give a truly great show of strength to the system”.
