From 31 August 2019 to 2 February 2020, Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice presents a retrospective on Ferdinando Scianna, one of the reference points for international contemporary photography

The exhibition at Casa dei Tre Oci curated by Denis Curti, Paola Bergna and Alberto Bianda, art director, organized by Civita Mostre e Musei, Civita Tre Venezie and supported by Fondazione di Venezia, retraces over 50 years of the career of the Sicilian photographer, through 180 works in black and white, on three major themes: Travel, Narrative, Memory.

The show is a way of reinforcing the strong ties between Ferdinando Scianna and Venice, revealed by a series of fashion images the Sicilian photographer took amidst the streets and squares of the city.

To explore the content of the exhibition, Casa dei Tre Oci has prepared a detailed educational project aimed at schools, groups of adults and families, with guided visits and workshops available by reservation, a cycle of encounters and events with the presence of the curators.

The video space at Casa dei Tre Oci will screen three documentary films on Scianna’s professional activity.
