Already visited in Milan by 480,000 people, Umbral - The temple of listening has been relocated to the land of Casa Albini in Aglientu, Gallura. Here, a new life begins

A real 'Time of listening', as the subtitle of the installation in time for FuoriSalone 2024 said: Umbral, the creation designed by Carlo Farina, Veronica Pesenti Rossi and Memo Sánchez Cárdenas, led by Fondazione Franco Albini with Rubner Haus for Cross Vision, the large exhibition-event organized every year by INTERNI during Milan Design Week, today fulfills the significant role of a meeting and discussion place.

Leading it is Paola Albini - daughter of the great master and President of the Albini Foundation, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Aglientu.

“Umbral in Spanish means “threshold, crossing” and well represents the Spirit of the training workshops that will come to life in this space, created to accommodate paths of transformation and co-creation”, says Paola Albini.

“Entering this Temple of Listening is like entering a bubble that envelops your senses: your sense of smell, tickled by the scent of wood, your sight, wide open to the beauty of Nature, your hearing, which relaxes the nervous system through the rustling of the wind and the singing of birds and also the sense of intuition, fueled by the 25,000 words written by the hundreds of thousands of people who visited Umbral, during Interni Cross Vision FuoriSalone2024.

This Temple of Listening is not only a message of sustainability and reuse but also the first tangible sign of the Citadel of Inspiration that will be developed in collaboration with the Municipality of Aglientu and the Polytechnic of Milan between now and 2030; a small city at the service of personal growth, encounters, contamination and the development of creative solutions to contemporary problems”.
