VIA (Visiting Installation Art) is an exhibition of contemporary art in some free windows in via della Spiga in Milan. Until March 2021

These are hard times for art and its use. These are times of pandemics, lockdowns, constantly changing yellow-orange-red areas. And then art reinvents itself, reborn precisely in those locations killed by the pandemic, challenging it and transmitting a message of positivity and trust.

The Viavài project was born from the idea of using the windows of some shops in via della Spiga in Milan that remained free due to the pandemic as exhibition spaces for works and artistic installations, transforming the void into an opportunity for creativity and launching a message of vitality artistic. Curated by Federica Sala, it is a cultural project of rebirth and revival, conceived by the entrepreneur Lorenzo Lombardi and the photographer Valentina Angeloni, created in collaboration with the owners of the premises.

The exhibition is proposed as an outdoor event for the city, in a period of closure of museums and art galleries: the works displayed in the shops, which are not accessible to the public, are visible from the street and described by captions placed on the windows, legible at a safe distance. Conceived as a widespread exhibition, it has a fluid display format both because it is present in various shops along the street and because it is constantly evolving. The shops, in fact, will be able to enter or exit the project according to the availability of the spaces, and integrate or replace the artistic interventions over time, coordinating with the curatorial proposals of the project.

The collective, spread across four shops, presents a site specific installation by Nathalie Du Pasquier in collaboration with Mutina at street number 52; the copper sculptures of the Italian-Japanese duo Gianluca Malgeri and Arina Endo in collaboration with the Roman gallery Magazzino are exhibited at 31; some pieces of the recent Jugalbandi exhibition by Lorenzo Vitturi for T293, made by the Jaipur Rugs Foundation are at 48 towards via Manzoni; while, again at 48 but towards via Borgospesso, a selection of works by Regine Schumann, the painter of light, for Dep Art Gallery.
